Track & Trail Dog Handler & Instructor
A powerful fusion of tracking, trailing and expert scent-dog training designed to unlock every dog’s extraordinary potential.
Discover the power of canine scent work with a programme that brings together the precision of tracking and the excitement of trailing. This unique Tracking and Trailing Course is designed to help you unlock your dog’s natural ability to follow human scent, read the environment and work with purpose, confidence and focus.
Perfect for professional trainers seeking a specialist service, behaviourists looking for meaningful confidence-building activities, or dedicated dog owners. This programme teaches two complementary training concepts that create lasting results. Tracking develops concentration, accuracy, and methodical problem-solving, while trailing builds drive, independence, and the powerful motivation to find a person. This allows our dogs to ‘choose a concept’ and problem-solve, all part of their natural behaviour.
By learning both disciplines together, you will gain a deeper understanding of how dogs use scent in the real world. You will learn how to train concepts that the dog can naturally choose, read these choices effectively, understand changes in body language, build motivation, develop reliable scent commitment and progress each dog at the right pace. The result is a more confident dog, a more observant handler and a stronger working partnership.
For trainers and behaviour professionals, this course opens the door to exciting, high-demand services that clients love. From pet dog enrichment and confidence-building sessions to structured scent-work workshops, lost dog awareness training and conservation-inspired activities, tracking and trailing can transform ordinary training into memorable, purposeful experiences.
The Track & Trail programme.
Our comprehensive three-week programme combines intensive practical learning with clear theory, practical skills, understanding and progressive training plans.
