You will achieve recognition as a skilled Medical Alert Dog Trainer, and this programme will empower you to train dogs to alert to seizures, diabetic episodes, and PTSD episodes, and to teach others to do the same.
Few skills in the dog world are as life-changing as a reliable medical alert. For the right person, this is more than a career: it is the chance to give people greater independence, safety and peace of mind, through the extraordinary power of a dog’s nose.
Without recognised credentials, this specialist work is almost impossible to offer with confidence. This programme will give you the credibility, structure and professional standing that clients, families and referrers need to trust you.
Over three intensive weeks of face-to-face teaching, plus online support, you will learn how scent alert training really works: the essential odour protocols, shaping a clear and reliable alert, and building the calm, dependable partnerships that medical alert work demands.
You will train using force-free, science-based methods throughout. This is skilled, ethical work, taught by a team that understands both the science of canine olfaction and the responsibility that comes with it.
Three intensive weeks of direct learning, then continuous support: ongoing advice, webinars, resources and an exclusive practitioner community. You will leave with proven techniques, professional tools, and a full training framework of your own to use.
