The Battenberg Brothers are wanted, men.

Wanted for the murder of Dr Quill. Wanted for questioning over their extraordinary escape. And, if the latest evidence is to be believed, wanted for considerably more than the authorities are currently prepared to admit.

Photographic evidence has emerged showing the brothers making their escape, passing none other than Mrs Miggins' Pie Shoppe. But what happened moments later remains a matter of considerable concern. For amongst the confusion, the smoke and the suspiciously convenient disappearance of several witnesses, a body was discovered on the floor.

Was it Mrs Miggins?

Our most valuable informant, purveyor of questionable pies, and keeper of secrets that could bring half of Victorian Staffordshire to its knees, appears to have vanished without a trace.

Has she met a grisly end? Has she gone into hiding? Or has she, perhaps, been playing a far more dangerous game than anyone suspected?

And what, pray tell, becomes of the Brass Gasket Club?

That peculiar establishment, renowned for its adult diversions, mechanical extravagance and almost limitless appetite for Victorian Steampunk excess in all its many and questionable forms, now finds itself without its most influential patron.

Who will take the reins? Who will control the club's rather unusual clientele? And what secrets might be concealed behind its polished brass doors?

The Battenberg Brothers remain at large. The authorities are baffled. The evidence is inconclusive, the witnesses unreliable, and the scent of conspiracy is everywhere.
